Cordless Metal Cutting Tools

Cordless Metal Cutting Tools

That's cute.....

The first time I saw a Panasonic EY3530 Metal Cutting Saw, I thought, "that's cute, but I can't see that thing being of any real use on the job". I was wrong. If you visit any job you will see cordless metal cutting saws in use in almost all of the trades.

What are they?

Cordless metal cutting saws are simply a cordless circular saw turning a carbide tipped metal blade at the appropriate rpm. These saws typically have an extra guard to help with the metal shavings. These saws cut mild steel very clean and cool.

One of my favorite stories is that of a sales rep walking into a customers office and cutting off a piece of threaded rod with the tool and threading a nut on, before the customer could through him out. He sold many, many tools that way.

What can they cut?

Cordless metal cutting saws can cut most mild steel including threaded rod, unit-strut, metal siding, EMT pipe, duct work, really any mild steel. Blades are available for aluminum also. I have heard them being used on copper, not sure that it is recommended though. By for the most common use is for cutting threaded rod, strut and EMT. If you are cutting mostly thin metal, blades are available with more teeth that will give you a better cut.

Who makes them?

The most popular saw is the Panasonic EY3530 Metal Cutting Saw but you can find them from , DeWalt, Milwuakee, Makita and others. If you already have a cordless circular saw, you can buy carbide tipped blades for most saws, Tenyru is among the biggest supplier of this type of blade.

I still think the tools specifically designed as metal cutters do the best job as they are set up just for that, but many of my Bosch customers have had good success with a carbide tipped metal blade on their saw.

Give them a try.

Many cordless power tool manufactures have a 30 day no questions asked return policy. I have offered this to many customers, but once they see what these tools can do, I don't get a single tool back. Give the Panasonic EY3530 Metal Cutting Saw a try.

You can purchase the Panasonic EY3530 Metal Cutting Saw at protoolguide.com See the full line of Panasonic Cordless Tools here.

Power Tools Care and Maintenance

Power Tools Care and Maintenance

Power tools don't come cheap and there's nothing worse than spending a fortune on a new drill just to have it break down a year later. Unless you're an avid carpenter, the average person will use his power tools sparingly, probably only a few times a year or even less.

In order to ensure you don't waste your investment or risk your safety, you should take some regular maintenance precautions in order to keep your tools in top condition.

Another important reason to perform regular maintenance routines is to keep yourself safe. A rusty blade or broken gear can cause you or a loved one to suffer a serious injury. Never turn on a power tool if you think it has been damaged.

To help prevent problems from occurring, it's important to keep your tools in a clean, dry area, away from dust and moisture. Dirt can get trapped in mechanisms either slowing them down or stopping them altogether.

Too much moisture can cause rust, which can easily destroy the power tools. This is especially true if they are battery powered. Batteries should be checked often for leaks and changed according to factory specifications. Electrical cords and plugs should also be examined for damage before using.

Keeping your power tools oiled is also an important part of regular maintenance. This helps maintain clean movement and also can preventing rusting. Oiling keeps your equipment running smoothly and should be performed often. It's inexpensive to buy and can add years of life to your power tools.

Larger tools will require a more thorough maintenance. Filters should be checked and changed often as well as oiling, dusting, and testing between uses. Bolts, hoses, and other small parts should be kept tight. Tools like table saws will need alignment and balancing occasionally to ensure that they work properly.

Blades will also need to be replaced periodically. If you're unsure of how to perform any necessary maintenance, consult with a professional. Never attempt to clean or fix a machine without experience and knowledge. Not only could you potentially damage the tool, but you could seriously hurt yourself in the process.

If an object becomes trapped in the power tool or the mechanisms fail, make sure the machine is completely shut off before disassembling. Always follow all given instructions on taking apart any piece of equipment and then reassembling. Don't add or alter any parts without consulting the manufacturer.

The most important part of power tool maintenance is safety. Save all instruction booklets that come with your power tools. These will be invaluable when problems arise or if you rarely use the tool. If you're unsure of how to fix a problem, either call the manufacturer or have a professional look at it.

Be sure that your tools are also in good condition before lending them out to a friend. You don't want to be responsible for the ramifications of using a faulty tool. Performing a little bit of maintenance will keep your power tools running smoothly for years to come.

Makita power tools help you in performing various tasks in a small amount of time with ease. However these tools don't come cheap and hence to make the most of your investment, care has to be taken while using the tools. To know more visit http://www.tylertool.com

Discount Power Tools

Discount Power Tools

Power Tools can be rather expensive pieces of equipment and not all builders / tradesmen may be able to afford them. Prices generally go up in the stores as technology improves and in a time where money can be tight not every one can afford to pay out shop prices.

There are companies trying to help out those people... Some online stores offer Discount Power Tools; these products are all brand new with the only difference being that they are sold at Trade price and not shop prices.

If you want to know how they are able to do this... I suggest you ask them, although there are a few contributing factors with the major 1 being that online stores do not have to pay for employees to be present at tills and stocking shelf's 9 hours a day, this reduces the overhead and can lead to lower product prices.

The other possible reason is that they receive ex stock from shops that they were not able to sell... However it works it can be a great help to those of you struggling with budget.

These discount products are not unbranded items either they are form well known manufacturers like Bosch, Dickies, Draper, DeWalt and Makita assuring you that the quality of product you receive will be the very best.

These products still come with guarantees and warranties just like they would in the shops. Another added bonus as well as the trade prices are most companies will offer you next day delivery so your products arrive nice and quickly.

If you are in need of this service check out our product pages, they contain many companies that specialise in this. Wesley Clarke writes about Discount Power Tools. Visit the Businessmagnet product page for details and suppliers of Discount Power Tools.

Difference Between a Cordless Drill and a Cordless Hammer Drill

Difference Between a Cordless Drill and a Cordless Hammer Drill

Christmas is the time that men love, especially if he is a tool lover. One of the most common gifts given during this time is drills. Now, there are a lot of choices available on the market today and finding the right one is very important.

You don't want to buy something that is a overkill do you. Well, today I want to touch on a common question. What is the difference between a cordless drill and a cordless hammer drill? This is a common question that is asked more often or not. Does it really make that much difference? The answer is yes.

Plain cordless drills are machines that rotate a bit in a circular motion as the user provides pressure towards or away from the object that is getting drilled. The bit has groves that latch on and pull through the material. Plain cordless drills are usually used for drilling into wood, vinyl, or softer materials.

On the other hand hammer drills are a much more violent tool. The drill still turns a special drill bit in a circular motion but it also does an extra function, it hummers down on the bit pushing it into the material.

These drills are normally used for drilling into concrete or steal material, material that a normal drill would not be able to drill through. It also requires a special drill bit that will not break with so much friction.

A hammer drill is not the perfect tool for someone who just does small jobs around the house. And if the recipient does not ask for this kind of drill I would not purchase it.

So, who makes the better drill between DeWalt and Milwaukee? If you want more bang for the buck then you need to choose DeWalt. DeWalt make a very superior drill that will last over the long haul. The price is also very reasonable.

Milwaukee does have a very comparable drill, but Milwaukee drills have a high premium for ownership. They cost a lot of money. And for the type of money spent you could get one or two more options with the Dewalt brand.

Kenneth Elliott is the owner of Cordless Drill, where he concentrates on reviews and great deals from all across the net. Check out this review on a 18 Volt Milwaukee Lithium-Ion Hammer Cordless Drill.

Safety Precautions When Using Dewalt Power Tools

Safety Precautions When Using Dewalt Power Tools

Dewalt Power Tools are preferred by individuals and companies to help speed up the job or task at hand.

Because of that, I guess it's better to take a look at some of the safety issues you should apply to prevent injuries while using your dewalt power tools.

Let me give you an example, when using a dewalt grinder make sure all the guards are in place. This protects your eyes and arms from getting burned by hot metal sparks.

It's also better for you to wear long sleeve clothes and safety glasses while grinding to give an additional protection.

Another example, when using your dewalt circular saw, just make sure that the blade guard is working properly.

Like using dewalt grinder, it's better for you to wear a safety glasses to prevent dust from getting in your eyes.

And, you should set the depth adjustment correctly so it just reaches through the board. This could prevent your power cord from causing electrical shock.

Dewalt also offer an electric brake on some model of power tools. This prevents the blade from free spinning to a stop when you cut off the power.

This is only a few of the various products by Dewalt Power Tools. Each tool requires different safety precautions. Use Dewalt Power Tools only for the jobs that they were designed for.

You have to take time to look at the worst case thing that could happen if you don't aware with the safety precaution when using the power tools of any kind.

Protect yourself from injuries and work safe.

German Power Tools Distributor Urges Government To Release Stimulus Funds

German Power Tools Distributor Urges Government To Release Stimulus Funds

ROBERT BOSCH, Inc., the local subsidiary of German car parts and power tools maker Robert Bosch GmbH, expects sales this year to slow from the "exceptional" 56% growth recorded in 2008, officials yesterday said.

The sales mix is also likely to change this year, with the firm’s power tools division looking to gain against car parts’ share in total sales with an uptick in public infrastructure activity, they said.

"[We are eyeing] double-digit growth but we don’t have figures right now ... 2008 was an exceptionally good year. It will be difficult [to match it]," Managing Director Franz Roland Odenthal told reporters at a briefing.

Sales to the Philippines stood at 13.6 billion euros last year, up by 56% from 2007, Mr. Odenthal said. As earlier reported, the group credited its year-on-year growth to the continued hike in car sales and expansion in the construction and mining sectors.

The DeWALT Hoseless 18-Gauge Nailer

The DeWALT Hoseless 18-Gauge Nailer

Begin by thinking about all the possible uses you might have for compressed air. If you won't be doing anything other than nailing, then a small, oil-free compressor does a great job. They're portable, quiet, they plug into a regular wall outlet, and they don't take up much workshop space. I've used the Porter-Cable and Bostitch 2 hp models for everything from fine trim work to one-man framing.

If you think the same thing with me, let's decide to go pneumatic, there's also a little-known bonus you need to consider. You absolutely must take a look at a pin nailer if you'll be installing small molding profiles, building furniture or making model boats and aircraft out of wood. This tiny, handheld air tool shoots thin, 23-gauge headless fasteners.

With a compressor on hand, it also enables a whole range of rental air tools for specific jobs. A roofing nailer for shingling, a framing nailer for basement renovations or a tool that shoots small nails in the centre of collated plastic washers for holding down building wrap.

Based on a finishing nailer body, the Nail Kicker uses a tube and plunger assembly in place of a nail magazine and nose piece to kick nails out backwards from reclaimed boards. I've used this tool personally, and it speeds denailing 300% to 400% compared with hammer and crowbar methods.

Perhaps by now you're thinking you really don't want to build an entire air nailer arsenal. Is a finishing nailer all you really want? Consider a hoseless model instead of a compressor and air-powered tool.

The Paslode finishing nailer, for instance, uses a replaceable canister of combustible fuel to drive nails. The DeWALT hoseless 18-gauge nailer uses the same kind of rechargeable battery you'll find on a drill our impact driver. I know from experience that both these tools work well.
